Fashion Paper Cranes!

The one thing I love about couture is that it always pushes the boundaries in fashion, making it a living proof of wearable art. One couture show that blew me away with excitement and enthusiasm was the over-the- top exclusive presentation of Givenchy's new custom-made art for 2011. Though there were only a handful of couture designs made, it propagated the notion of couture as precisely made it connection to fine detail, supreme tailoring and a multitude of seeping creativity.

Givenchy showed in this couture presentation an elegant collection inspired by robots, technology and an Oriental vibe in contrast to the Parisian context. It magnifies a culture of the unknown into fashion. But the irony is, despite the creative foray of inspirations attributing to the collection, the principals of couture still lies within the fashion, making it fashion as art. Givenchy rules! Step up elegant couture into the next generation! Cool, hip and so HOT-couture!
